Founded in February 2013, YSC now brings together about 96 members under the oversight of the Youth Board. The group is guided by an Executive Committee composed of the Chaplain, Patron, Matron, and the elected YSC officials. Several subcommittees support the group’s work in Liturgy, Talent, Social Activities, and Finance. There is also a separate subcommittee made up of secretaries responsible for talent and sports, as well as welfare and the organization of activities.
Youth Serving Christ (YSC) is a Catholic youth group at Holy Family Minor Basilica serving young adults aged 18 to 26 years. Its members include MYM graduates, university and college students, interns, and young professionals.
Members of YSC are grouped into eight families, each named after a saint who serves as a role model for the youth.
To be role models in the apostolate and missionary work
To understand and serve God in spirit and truth.
By Christ, for Christ.
Service, Integrity, Respect, Mutual Growth.
The group has built a strong and vibrant youth community active in parish life and committed to both spiritual and social development. Members contribute significantly to liturgy, charity work, and youth evangelization.
YSC serves in liturgy, spiritual formation, charity outreach, social and sporting activities, and youth leadership development.
About the Patron Saint: St. John Paul II
St. John Paul II, beloved pope and tireless champion of the youth, is the patron saint of YSC. His deep love for young people, expressed through World Youth Days and his constant call for courage and holiness, inspires YSC to be a community of faith, joy, and service.
His life story, marked by resilience, prayer, and hope even in times of hardship, encourages young adults to root themselves in Christ, embrace their gifts, and become witnesses of the Gospel wherever they go.
