Formed in 2018 within the Holy Family Minor Basilica Parish, the St. Philip Neri Small Christian Community draws inspiration from its patron, St. Philip Neri — a Christian missionary and founder of the Congregation of the Oratory, a community of Catholic priests and lay brothers.
To embody the spirit of St. Philip Neri by fostering faith, joy, and community through prayer and service.
To deepen members’ faith, strengthen relationships, and serve others while embracing the joy of Christian living.
St. Philip Neri
St. Philip Neri encouraged people to gather for discussion, study, prayer, and music, building joyful fellowship centered on Christ. His famous question, “Well, brothers, when shall we begin to do good?”, continues to inspire members to live out their faith through service and joy.
He was beatified by Pope Paul V on May 11, 1615, and canonized by Pope Gregory XV on March 12, 1622. Known as the patron saint of Rome, joy, humor, and the U.S. Special Forces, his feast day is celebrated on May 26 each year.
“Through her life and example, Mother Teresa reminds all Christians to respond to Christ’s words from the Cross — ‘I thirst’ — by quenching His thirst for souls through love and service.”
