St. Matthias Small Christian Community (SCC)

About our community

Formed on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Holy Family Minor Basilica Parish, St. Matthias Small Christian Community (SCC) brings together parishoners who were catechumens during that year’s Easter Vigil. The group draws its name and inspiration from St. Matthias, the apostle chosen to replace Judas, symbolizing faithfulness and renewal.

The group’s formation was guided by Fr. Matthias Wambua, who taught catechism and inspired the community’s name and spirit of perseverance. From humble beginnings, St. Matthias SCC has grown into a vibrant faith family of 25 active members who journey together in prayer, service, and mutual support.

Over the years, the community has built a strong foundation of spiritual unity and social connection, embodying the call to live as witnesses of Christ in daily life.

Chaplain: Rev. Fr. Simon Mwangi
