Jesus, Mary, and Joseph (JMJ) Small Christian Community

About our community

The Jesus, Mary, and Joseph (JMJ) Small Christian Community (SCC) was formed in January 2007 during the tenure of Rev. Fr. Immanuel Ngugi.

It began with a small group of about 25 members—20 ladies and 5 men—who worked in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD). Due to city traffic challenges, they found it difficult to join SCCs in their residential areas. Seeking spiritual fellowship and belonging, they approached Fr. Ngugi, who welcomed their proposal and allowed them to meet within the Holy Family Basilica compound, under the Catholic Parochial School.
Originally named Holy Family Basilica SCC, the group adopted the name Jesus, Mary, and Joseph SCC in 2010, inspired by the Holy Family of Nazareth—the perfect model of Christian unity, love, and obedience to God.

Vision

To foster spiritual growth, mutual support, and faith development modeled on the Holy Family.
