Couples for Christ (CFC)

About our community

Couples for Christ (CFC) is a global Christian movement dedicated to renewing and strengthening Christian family life. Founded in the Philippines in 1981 with 16 couples, CFC has grown to operate in over 100 countries, including Kenya. It aims to establish Christian families committed to evangelization and Total Christian Liberation through the power of the Holy Spirit. Members dedicate themselves to God and each other, fostering spiritual growth and fulfilling their vocation of raising families under Jesus Christ’s lordship.

To build strong Christian families that serve as foundations for a renewed Church and society.

Mission

CFC seeks to renew families, strengthen the Church, and transform society by fostering personal and family commitment to Jesus Christ and the Gospel through ongoing formation, evangelization, and service.

Our Objectives

  • Renew individual couples and their families, bringing them closer to God.
  • Build networks of renewed families to strengthen parish and Church communities.
  • Promote Christian values to address societal challenges and protect the family unit.

Ministries

CFC provides holistic support for family members through its ministries:

  • Kids for Christ (KFC): For children aged 4–12.
  • Youth for Christ (YFC): For young adults aged 13–23.
  • Singles for Christ (SFC): For single men and women aged 24–40.
  • Handmaids of the Lord (HOLD): For single mature women, widows, and single mothers.
  • Servants of the Lord (SOLD): For men in similar situations as HOLD.

Our Activities

Christian Life Program (CLP)

): A 12-week seminar that introduces new members to CFC, focusing on faith renewal and spiritual growth.

Households

Small cell groups (5–7 couples) for personal sharing and mutual support.

Ongoing Formation

Regular retreats, recollections, and conferences for continuous spiritual growth.

How to Join

Membership is open to validly married Catholic couples, with non-Catholic Christian couples also welcome to join. CFC transcends cultural, economic, and social distinctions, uniting people across diverse sectors of society.

  • Requirements: Completion of the Christian Life Program (CLP).
  • Structure: Members join a Household group for mutual sharing and support after completing the CLP.
