Sacrament of Baptism

Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds. (CCC 1316)

Baptism Requirements

  1. Parents’ Baptismal cards
  2. God Parent’s Baptismal card; God parent must  be practicing Catholic
  3. Child’s birth certificate or notification of birth
  4. Approval letter from your Parish Priest, for Holy Family Basilica members, submit Parishioner card
  5. Parents to choose a Saint name recommended by the church as Child’s Baptism Name
  6. Make sure you see the Priest with the documents above.
  7. Upon approval by Holy Family Basilica Priest, Parents and Godparents will attend four baptismal instructions on Thursday at 5.30 p.m. at St. Dominic Hall.
 

NOTE: Baptism takes place every last Saturday of the month. In case of changes, parents are notified earlier.

PMC CATECHISM

Children registering for this class will receive the following sacraments

  • Baptism; this is in the case of the unbaptized
  • Holy Eucharist
  • Confirmation

Requirements:

  1. Parents’ Baptismal cards
  2. Child’s original Baptism card, this is for children who are already baptized as infants
  3. God Parent’s Baptismal card; God parent must  be practicing Catholic
  4. A copy of Child’s Birth certificate
  5. Make sure you see the Priest or a nun in the Parish office with the documents above.
  6. Upon approval, your child will be registered.
 

NOTE: Baptism takes place every last Saturday of the month. In case of changes, parents are notified earlier.

ADULT CATECHISM (Preparation for Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

An individual registering for this class will receive the following sacraments

  • Baptism; this is in the case of the unbaptized
  • Holy Eucharist
  • Confirmation

Requirements:

  1. Baptism card; this is for those baptized
  2. National Identity Card
  3. God Parent’s Baptismal card; God parent must be practicing Catholic
  1. Make sure you see the Priest in the Parish office with the documents above.
  1. A new class begins immediately after Easter (April or May)
 

NOTE: Registration is open throughout the year
