About our community

Founded in the year 2000,

St. Jude Small Christian Community (SCC) fosters faith, hope, and unity in Nairobi, Kenya. St. Jude SCC is one of the Jumuiyas that continues to live the original SCC tradition most fully. Inspired by St. Jude, the patron saint of hope and impossible causes, the group brings members together for spiritual growth and community support.

The SCC began as a neighbourhood group gathering in members’ homes to pray, share Scripture, and live the Gospel, a model that St. Jude SCC still embodies today. The group operates under the spiritual guidance and support of Fr. Simon Mwangi as its chaplain, who provides pastoral care and mentorship to members.

To nurture spiritual growth, foster fellowship, and support the marginalized.

Our Objectives

  • Deepen members' faith through prayer and scripture study.

Our Patron Saint

St. Jude, one of the twelve apostles, is traditionally known as the saint of hopeless or seemingly impossible causes. His unwavering faith and courage in the face of adversity inspire the SCC to persevere in hope, serve the community, and strengthen their faith even during challenging times.

Join Our Community

Membership in St. Jude SCC is open to all Christians wishing to grow in faith and participate actively in parish life.

  • Meetings: Every Tuesday evening at 7: 00 pm (prayer and reflection).
  • Holy Mass: Every Thursday at 7:00 pm, hosted in members’ homes, providing opportunities for shared reflection, mutual support, and fellowship.
  • Joining: New members may join by expressing interest to existing members or through parish registration.
