Founded in 2018 at Holy Family Minor Basilica, the Basilica Magnificat Choir (BMC) emerged from a vision during a Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) meeting to expand the Basilica’s musical capacity. Rev. Fr. Simon Peter Kamomoe, now Bishop, invited PPC members—both outgoing and incoming leaders—to form a choir uniting dedication and devotion.
BMC was officially commissioned on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019, by His Eminence John Cardinal Emeritus Njue, becoming one of the Basilica’s three main choirs, recognized for its choral excellence and rich liturgical repertoire.

St. Mary
Named after Mary’s song of praise (Luke 1:46–55), BMC began with members of varying musical experience. Under the guidance of Mr. Nick, the choir implemented Personal Online Rehearsals (OPR), enabling individual growth while preparing for harmonization in Physical Interactive Rehearsals (PIR).
